KIJUPA is the SUPERKUNSTFESTIVAL’s Children’s and Young People’s Parliament. Here, children and young people aged 8 to 18 help shape the festival, contribute their ideas and take responsibility for their own projects.
Since 2025, KIJUPA has met regularly to discuss topics such as children’s rights, democracy and diversity, develop its own projects and ideas, and get to know the SUPERKUNSTFESTIVAL behind the scenes. The ideas and projects developed by the children and young people ultimately led to a dedicated KIJUPA festival programme.
What participation can achieve became visible and tangible at SUPERKUNSTFESTIVAL 2026: with a ballot box for daily votes, their own KIJUPA container, the ‘SUPERKUNST Constitution’ participation wall, and ministries they had founded themselves, the children and young people brought their topics and perspectives to the festival.
In addition, numerous other KIJUPA ideas and projects enriched the festival, including child-friendly toilets, designated non-smoking areas, a large site map for festival-goers, an under-18 area exclusively for children and young people, the children’s stage in the Kids Chaos Corner, and daily tips from kids for kids.
